Blue Mountain Getaway
When a landscape designer creates an ambitious plan for a difficult site, they need a craftsman who can actually build it. For this property near Blue Mountain Village, the design called for a massive elevation change up the side of the house, leading into a backyard that measured about twenty feet deep.
We were brought in to execute the stonework, starting with a grand side staircase built from heavy limestone slabs and boulder flanking. In the tight rear yard, we laid an irregular flagstone terrace around a sunken firepit, using perimeter armourstone to hold the grade. Bringing a design like this to life in such constrained quarters requires absolute precision—every stone has to earn its place. The result is a seamless collaboration between vision and craft.
